New Tech and Asset Management Fellowship Launches To Expand Talent Pipeline In Emerging Regions

February 2024 - Blended Impact is proud to sponsor the newly developed Tech and Asset Management Fellowship (TAM) with support from the James Irvine Foundation and The Good Rural. With a focus on emerging innovation ecosystems, our 6-week TAM Fellowship allows talented young adults the opportunity to explore the path of becoming a Founder, Funder, or Developer culminating in a $5,000 prized research competition.

The program’s mission is to build a more robust pipeline of tech and asset management experts with an emphasis on emerging markets. For this initial pilot cohort, TAM offers this leadership and talent development initiative to current undergraduate and graduate students across California, along with competitive non-student applicants aged 16-24 (aka Opportunity Youth).

Industry-leading speakers will be joining the cohort for weekly discussions on career pathways including Lisa Kim, City Manager for the City of Garden Grove; Kunal Merchant, Partner and COO at Revitate; Jessica Salinas, Chief Investment Officer for New Media Ventures; Lucas Dickey, Co-Founder of Fernish and Deepcast.fm; Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex, and more.

Applications close on March 22nd, 2024 with the initial sessions kicking off on April 3rd, 2024, and running through a graduation in early May. An 80% attendance rate is required to be considered a Fellowship Graduate and to be invited to the in-person graduation with a special site tour and founder fireside chat to be announced at a later date.

After a short break, the Competition will run during a four-week period in June 2024 where Fellowship Graduates will be able to compete for four research-based cash prizes totaling $5,000. This initiative marks the pilot launch of Blended Impact Labs, the affiliated nonprofit community Community Development Corporation of Blended Impact, and will be led by Mika Jain, Manager of University Programs.
